Description
Breaking Free is painted on toned paper and professionally framed under glare-free, UV-protected glass in a seaside-inspired contemporary wooden frame. It is fresh, meditative, calming, and familiar.
I’ve been asked if this (and Take A Break) was painted en plein air ~ although it wasn’t, it certainly feels of fresh air, expressive colorful marks, and carefree strokes that we often see in the first layers of a quick painting on site.
This painting feels like you might recognize the location, though it is 100% intuitively painted from imagination without reference, as is my process. The abstraction allows your mind to consider location, time of day, and weather ~ it relaxes your spirit and leads you to considering where you might travel next, and what might lie ahead.
I painted this side by side with another titled, Take A Break. They would be an excellent pair in any space.
