Driving Ms Daisy, 24×20″ acrylic mixed media on shell paper with archival 30×24″ mat

$1,100

The original mixed media painting on 24×20″ shell paper with light gray archival mat.

Description

Driving Ms. Daisy is an early, foundational painting created on shell paper and serves as the capstone of an unreleased series. Works from this period mark the emergence of a visual language rooted in balance, intuition, and freedom ~ where color, mark, and material are allowed to speak their mind.

Painted on shell paper, a unique and sensitive substrate, this work embraces playfulness and care in equal measure. The surface rewards confident mark-making while preserving immediacy and lightness within the painted field.

My practice encourages freedom by example ~ painting as an act of trust, curiosity, and delight. Whimsy and seriousness coexist here, carried through color relationships, rhythmic marks, and a willingness to let materials participate fully in the finished work.

This painting is offered unframed and includes an archival, acid-free mat sized to fit a standard 30 × 24 inch frame. The mat is considered an integral part of the presentation, supporting safe handling and professional framing while honoring the delicacy of the shell paper.

As the capstone of this series, Driving Ms. Daisy anchors a body of early works that are released selectively and not revisited. For collectors drawn to early paintings, series work, and distinctive materials, this piece offers both joy and lasting presence ~ with the freedom to choose its final frame.
