This never happens, this painting is still wet! Fresh off the June 2024 easel, and soon to be spray varnished satin to protect the media and present a more balanced sheen. With a theme of red, white and blue ~ and our American holiday of July 4th, Independance Day, I thought it would be a good time to release this painting that sparkles like a fireworks finale.
A painting over a painting over a painting ~ actually, it was never finished, though it’s had a couple of close calls, where I thought that I knew what it wanted. As I was painting a bouquet on a different canvas, I looked up at this 18×24″ horizontal abstract and knew exactly what I wanted. I present pattern, shape, warm & cool, heavy and light, muted and bold, traditional and contemporary, whimsical and solid as a rock.
This art has a depth of character that radiates like the unspoken sacrifices of generations upon generations.
Red as the backdrop, symbolic of passion and sacrifice. Deep blue with blue/greens offer a visual dance that only this artist could choreograph.
When you think you are looking at a beautiful vessel, that glows atop a beautiful surface, you soon discover that these are muted colors, and could never compare to the love of freedom.
