Description
As an intuitive painter, I approach each canvas without an idea of what it will look like, what colors it will have, or even the subject matter. For this piece, my first approach was an abstract painting using only 2 colors plus white (alizarin crimson hue & quinacridone magenta). The next day I saw a vase arrangement within the piece and began painting in my normal style of response to what is in front of me.
It wasn’t until I was taking pictures that I realized that this was a red, white and blue painting ~ similar to another recent piece. This told me that the painting had a purpose of connecting us with the Independance Day holiday.
Fresh off the easel for the July 4th American holiday. This acrylic painting is so typical of a Melissa Lea in that the outcome was a complete surprise.
A good-sized light weight piece, at 30×24″ wrapped canvas, ready to ship or deliver at no additional fee and with a certificate of authenticity, wired ready to hang.
