Description
Early in my career as a professional artist, I explored subjects that I loved ~ in hopes of finding which subjects that I want to focus on mastering skills. This period of time produced a number of paintings that I classify as “rocks”. The expressive marks, color, abstraction to macro with overflowing abundance, shape, and so much more about these early pieces carry the footsteps which leave impressions on my art today.
This pair are different sizes, and substrates, but both are mixed media, painted on paper as a diptych, and are painted and signed horizontally. The photo gallery should give you examples of the effects of various lighting and arrangement.
I find this pair especially beautiful, and hope that they stay together ~ however, I am always happy to connect art with their people and will separate the 2 if need be. They speak to me of NH’s cold rivers, and the others that I’ve visited, like the Kenai River in Alaska. The sedimentation and history of water worn stone are extremely touching to my heart. This pair is a sparkle you catch in the potpourri of sights and sounds that you pass along the most beautiful woodland trail, on the most beautiful day you could imagine, enjoying the best hike ever.
