Abstract Bouquet Painting ~ Trust Your Pace
Abstract bouquet painting “Trust Your Pace” is an original 14×11″ mixed media floral created during my residency at The Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire.
This painting belongs to the residency body of work Attending To Light. During the residency, intuitive abstractions and companion bouquet paintings developed together. The abstract works explored the source of light. Meanwhile, the bouquets express how that light appears in daily life.
Because of this relationship, the bouquet paintings feel both lively and grounded.
Abstract Bouquet Painting Reflecting Life’s Rhythm
This abstract bouquet painting holds many kinds of movement. Some marks feel energetic and spontaneous. However, other passages feel calm and steady.
Bright neon oranges and yellows appear like moments of celebration. Meanwhile, deeper purples and blues create areas of quiet reflection.
Life often moves in this same way.
Sometimes the path feels scattered. At other times it becomes clear and direct. Then suddenly a moment of awareness appears.
Therefore, the painting allows many rhythms to exist together in one space.

The title Trust Your Pace emerged during the residency as an important realization.
Creative discovery cannot be rushed. Instead, it unfolds through patience, listening, and trust in the process of life.
Some marks wander. Others move with clarity. Meanwhile, flashes of bright color appear like moments of awareness or celebration.
Together these marks form the bouquet.
Each mark remains visible as part of the journey. Because of this openness, the painting carries a quiet message of reassurance.
