Description
Take A Break is fresh, meditative, calming and familiar. It is painted on Strathmore 400 Series toned tan paper and framed under glare-free, uv protected glass in a seaside contemporary wooden frame.
I’ve been asked if this was painted en plein air ~ it wasn’t, but it certainly has that feel of fresh air, expressive color field marks, and carefree strokes that are often the first layers of a quick painting on site.
This painting feels like you might recognize the location, though it is 100% intuitively painted from imagination without reference, as is my process. The abstraction allows your mind to consider location, time of day, and weather ~ it relaxes your spirit and has you considering your personal paths and anticipating another beautiful excursion.
I painted this side by side with another titled, Breaking Free. They would be an excellent pair in any space.
