Description
Tender Gifts, an original aqua green abstract painting
Tender Gifts is an original 24×18″ aqua green abstract painting on archival paper. I created this work with acrylic and other media on Strathmore 400 series paper with its linen-like surface. This painting explores luminous color, emotional atmosphere, and the mysterious beauty of unexpected gifts that arrive throughout life and leave a lasting imprint.

Built through translucent layers of aqua, mineral green, turquoise, softened teal, and gemstone blue, the painting holds light in a way that feels refracted and immersive. At times, the surface resembles water, sea glass, or a cut gemstone. Meanwhile, areas of softness dissolve into deeper passages of color to a glow that shifts gently across the composition.
I created Tender Gifts intuitively through response and layered discovery, not fixed planning. As the painting developed, it became a meditation on color, tenderness, beauty, and the experiences that shape us over time. The viewer enters through feeling and atmosphere, as forms appear and recede at the edge of recognition.

This work pairs beautifully with its companion painting, Memory Moves, which continues a similar exploration of movement, emotional resonance, and gemstone-like color relationships. Together, the paintings create a larger immersive conversation around color, light, and the emotional language of abstraction.
The gallery images include styling examples shown in a frame with mat which allows collectors to imagine the work as a framed piece according to their own interior and presentation preferences. Gallery images show Tender Gifts displayed alongside Memory Moves for scale and pairing inspiration.
Aqua Green Abstract Painting With Luminous Light

Using shapes and movement as a vehicle for abstraction, I create paintings that invite pause, imagination, and connection. In Tender Gifts, layered translucency, gemstone color, atmospheric depth, and received light work together to create a contemplative visual experience.

The linen-like surface of the archival paper allows the paint to settle softly while preserving subtle texture and diffusion throughout the composition. Thin washes interact with saturated passages to create nuanced shifts that continue revealing themselves.
This work is especially suited for collectors drawn to luminous contemporary abstraction, atmospheric color, and emotionally resonant paintings that create a meaningful sense of space.
