Sparked by the energy of listening to my favorite contemporary jazz and blues artist ~ when she plays her saxophone up on that stage, wowzer…. I just go crazy!
She, and her bandmates demonstrate a passion that my soul recognizes and rejoices in.
This painting’s first layers, which I kept visible to maintain that original experience, were painted after first discovering her music and listening to one award winning song, over and over again. I listened, cried, listened again…. I doubt I’ll forget the season when I discovered that art is art is art…. it’s in music, as it’s in my paintings.
As a new professional artist (starting year 4 at this writing), it’s only now in my life that I am able to understand that art is a reflection of an individual ~ a unique expression of The Creator…. and will always be identified as beautiful.
Celebrate art. Celebrate song and dance and earth and family and joys of life. Know they are the canvas painted just for you ~ and your response is why.
