Description
If it’s summertime, and your ice cream is melting down your forearm, and your flip flops are flipping off, then you know exactly what this painting feels like.
Not afraid of color, bold marks, and expressions of joy and whimsy ~ that’s what this 24x18inch says about its Artist.
What does it say about you?
A must-see piece ~ typical of an original Melissa Lea ~ it radiates and offers an experience that changes space and creates relationship ~ literally! I witnessed this while it was exhibiting and honored to have a place in the front window of the gallery on the main street of our bustling Dover NH. While I exited, I saw 2 women huddled at the front window, pointing in at my painting, and I overheard one say, “And I love those black marks.”
I had to acknowledge their comment and introduced myself as the artist ~ they were joyful, the couple of minutes of experience was joyful. And the ripples of pleasure that this painting brings extends even further because MY mom was with me to witness and participate in this loving experience. AND, I know it was enjoyed by many visitors to the gallery while there for those 2 months.
You see, it’s not about painting the prettiest picture, it’s about connecting with space, creating relationship (picture the 2 women, probably also mother & daughter, huddled close at a shop window on a cold early spring day in NH) and inspiring wonder and optimism.
Dreaming In All Flavors does that.
