It’s Worth It is an original 14×11 abstract floral painting created during my residency at The Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire.
This painting reflects a simple yet meaningful response to the challenges of life. When circumstances feel demanding, choosing care, effort, and generosity lightens the burden.
Because of this belief that going the extra mile is always worth it, this bouquet becomes an offering and an encouragement.
The flowers suggest the moment when someone decides to give their best effort. They gather what they have, and they shape something beautiful from it.
Acts of care shape spaces
Someone brings a prepared meal to a neighbor. A caregiver stays a little longer with a patient. A host cuts extra flowers from the garden so the table feels welcoming.
These are often small acts of care but together they change the tone of life ~ they add thoughtful encouragement.

Bouquets Within the Residency Series
During my residency work, non-representational abstract paintings and abstract bouquet paintings developed alongside one another.
The abstract works explored light as a source. Meanwhile, the bouquet paintings reveal how that light appears in daily life.
Because of this relationship, the bouquet paintings feel both expressive and grounded. They translate inner light into visible forms of care, hospitality, and shared beauty.
Abstract Floral Painting Details and Atmosphere
A deep cobalt blue vessel anchors the composition with calm stability. Above it, layered flowers in blues, violets, and lavender tones create a lively and generous arrangement.
Small bursts of orange and yellow appear among the blossoms. Meanwhile, fresh green leaves bring movement and balance.
The green background offers a sense of glow. As a result, the flowers feel vibrant and alive.
Loose white line work dances across the bouquet, adding a playful energy that suggests flowers gathered by hand and arranged with intention.
