Sparked by the energy of listening to my favorite contemporary jazz and blues artist ~ when she plays her saxophone up on that stage, wowzer…. I just go crazy!
She, and her bandmates demonstrate a passion that my soul recognizes and rejoices in.
This painting’s first layers, which I kept visible to maintain that original experience, were painted after first discovering her music and listening to one of her award winning songs, over and over again. I listened, cried, listened again…. I doubt I’ll forget the season when I discovered that art is art is art…. it’s in music, as it’s in my paintings.
As a fairly new professional artist, it’s only now in my life that I am able to understand that art is a unique expression of The Creator…. and can always be identified as beautiful.
Celebrate art. Celebrate song and dance and earth and family and joys of life. Know they are the canvas painted just for you ~ and your response.
