Description
Take A Chance on me reflects expressions of joy, abundance, and faith.
*Joy because of the expressive marks and the whimsy of big blossom heads bobbing, almost seemingly like they are not attached to stems, but knowing their place to complete the perfection of creation.
*Abundance because the canvas (paper) is FULL of this energy of life ~ the vessel fills the scene with it’s almost figure like fullness, the vessel has so many different colors that you cannot count them, and the bouncing flower shapes which are also full of color, overflow their space.
*Faith because the vessel was inspired by a friend’s photograph of a striped vase ~ if I remember correctly, the vase had bold black & white stripes. Since I don’t paint from reference, only imagination, this interpretation is completely intuitive and unique unto itself ~ a process of faith in creation, that unique is expected and is what makes this bouquet, and each one of us, so special.
