Description
Contemporary Abstract Painting ~ Things Of The Heavens
Things Of The Heavens is a contemporary abstract painting, 36×36 inches, created with acrylic mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas.
Inspired by the beauty of the moon and the mystery of creation, this work began through an intuitive process. I built the surface in layers using acrylic, soft pastels, and mixed media. As a result, the painting holds movement, depth, and atmosphere.
I first painted it as a 41×41 canvas tacked directly to the wall. This allowed full-body gesture and freedom. Later, a professional framer stretched it to a 36×36×1.5 gallery wrap. The edges remain clean, so the painting reads as a complete object in space.
Sweeping arcs and luminous bursts move across the surface. At the same time, softened veils of color create quiet transitions. Because of this, the painting shifts with light throughout the day.
Contemporary Abstract Painting ~ Light and Presence
This contemporary abstract painting explores light beyond light and shadow. It reflects a search for presence, connection, and what cannot be seen directly.
Color leads the composition. Deep celestial tones anchor the surface, while brighter passages bring energy and lift. As a result, the painting feels both expansive and grounded.
Rather than filling space, the work creates it. Therefore, it offers a place where the viewer can pause, be, and seek.
Living With Contemporary Abstract Painting
This contemporary abstract painting works as a statement piece in modern organic interiors. It pairs especially well with neutral walls that need an intentional moment of color.
For example, ideal placement includes:
- Living room focal wall
- Entryway for first impression
- Bedroom for calm and rest
- Office or studio for clarity
- Dining room for conversation
Throughout the day, the experience changes. Morning light softens it, midday reveals color shifts, and in evening light it becomes more atmospheric.
